Sorry, I meant because it's a feature I love and see no down-sides to. As far as I can tell on mine even with the touch screen enabled you can still use the af-on button to focus in live view (it focuses where the white rectangle is--the rectangle turns blue for an instant) and if you touch the screen it moves the focusing rectangle but doesn't refocus unless you press the af-on button again. This is assuming you have the af-on button set to focus and the shutter button set so it doesn't focus. And having the touch screen enabled means you can easily and instantly move the focusing rectangle to wherever you want it on the screen without laboriously using the direction control thing on the back of the camera.

While strolling around in the tourist area (Clifton Hill) of Niagara Falls On., I happened upon these two wax figures behind glass.
Heath Ledger as the Joker and the ever popular guitar legend, Jimi Hendrix. The more I shoot with the 80D, the more I like it.

I think I've come to the conclusion that I prefer using the 80D for birds, vs. my 5D4. I didn't like the 80D with the 100-400 II at all, those two just didn't work well together, but the 80D + 400DO II is amazingly sharp and detailed. As a bonus, the 400 DO + both extenders look much better than with the 5D4. The only area where I'll grab the 5D4 over the 80D is when it's lower light, or I'm shooting under canopy w/ lots of shadow, due to the better noise characteristics of the larger sensor.

Oh man, that's tough, sorry to hear about that bad stroke of luck. Look at it this way though: you get all new stuff to try out.
