oooh! is that the f4? Has been on my wish list for a while, since getting FF and having used a rented 10-22 on the older 7D on a Venice trip...............I did take the 24-105 but never used it.

WA lenses give you a different "view of the world" ;)

Errrrrrrrrr  yes

I struggled on my trip to Paris 24 - 105 did a great job but sometimes just did not have the stretch, I am off the Venice in 2017 so felt i need a bit more girth

Sometimes I take good photos other times !!!!
EOS 5DMkiv EF100-400L f4.5-5.6, EF24-105L f4, EF16-35L f4 EF50 1:1.8 II, EF28 1:2.8 & 580EXII and some triggers. Lightroom & Photoshop CC

f/4 ............... not convinced i needed the 2.8 or even the IS on the f/4 as most of my low light stuff is on a tripod

Less income now so much more thinking & planning required before answering this GAS desire for new kit :(

The Venice ones on my 500px were taken (i think i recall correctly.......though possible the carnival ones were 24-105 ???) on the 10-22 on 7D so close to FF and 16-35 :)

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

The f4 AFAIK gets that tad better reviews than the f2.8 including on Fred Miranda.

I've had the f4 for about 18 months now. Far better than the f2.8 II and on a par with the f2.8 III having compared the two back to back on Thursday. You can pick a good used one up for £600. The other thing is that you can't fit the Lee 100mm filter kit on the f2.8 unless you limit it to one filter otherwise you get vignetteing at 16mm. I have three filter slots and the polorizer fitted on mine and it's fine. (smaller front element).
