Watched this little globular springtail wander across the ridge of a fallen leaf...

Starling Murmuration
Absolutely stunning sight, but very hard work
The best display was dusk into darkness and as such was really hard to keep a higher enough shutter speed to prevent everything being reduced to a blur
I eventually ended up shooting at 50mm f1.8 @ ISO 1600

Auto ISO was a god send

That's an amazing phenomenon, and great pictures. Does it happen at same time every year?

Its winter thing, there are a few hot spots around the country (around the world too, Rome is supposed to be amazing) but new locations always crop up and some older ones fade out

First time Ive seen it in person, was absolutely stunning
Just make sure you're not stood below :p

Miserable weather outside so the photo props came out, coupled with 'vintage style' PP to suit the subject

Got Sigma 105mm f2.8 DG OS macro lens. I am not into macro. But looks good to take kids pics.

Nice - it's supposed to be a great lens .... I sometimes lust after it as it's a bit longer than my Tamron 90, and always scores well in reviews.
