POTN G-series Speed Challenge # 625: Abstract

Description of this week topic:

Let's see those G-Series cameras capture a bit more "artistic" elements. I want you to capture abstract art. Try not to represent a common visual reality but instead have shapes, colors, and/or forms represented in your photos; whether it is a macro shot, the use of an uncommon angle, or using your post processing skills, let's see those inner artists in you all come out. I will simply judge by the most interesting/pleasing to me! Have fun.

Remember, if you post a photo, you may be the winner. Be prepared to host and judge a new challenge.

To submit, click the button labeled 'POST TO THREAD' and put your Photo Title in the first line of the post, above your photo.
Don't forget your Camera Model.

Post until Monday noon GMT, 20 February 2017

WINNERS!!
Thanks to all for participating this week! Again, just judging on my individual idea of abstract.

1st - teekay with Koi - For me this is abstract. Looks like a little post processing was done. The closest to what I was looking for.

2nd - M_Six with Through an Old Window - I can tell its a window but I like how the old glass distorts the scene beyond.

3rd - Car with Lone Stone (Season) - The distortions with the ripples definitely gives a feeling of abstraction.

Winners posted.

Thanks to all that entered, great variety of photographs. A bit of abstract, a little surrealism, nicely done.

Congrats to teekay, Mark & Carolyn! I would have judged the exact same way, Cory. I am not good at spotting abstract stuff so I almost bailed out this week......too rainy to venture out much so I was stuck with what I could find indoors.
Thanks for the hosting duties,

Kudos to teekay. I agree, closest entry to pure abstract. Very nicely done.

I like the Lone Stone, too. Some over-the-top processing might have given teekay a run for his money.

Thanks for the 2nd place nod, Cory.

Congratulations to teekay, Mark & Carolyn. Excellent entries :-). I love the colors in Teekay's entry.

Thanks, Cory! I really shouldn't have entered this week and certainly didn't want to win but couldn't resist trying some processing of an old shot.

I've not been able to handle a camera since December due to hand operations, and still can't, plus spending time in hospital with pneumonia, but at least am now able to peck at keys on the computer with a couple of numb fingers, so will try and have a new challenge up tomorrow.

Good to be back online and I hope to be able to handle at least my little G15 by spring and fully participate here again.
