Thank you for this thread. These are our two American Akita's George and Miki.
I am very new to photography. But I love all of he moments I can capture of them.
With time I hope to improve.
https://photography-on-the.net …showthread.php?p=17766418 and practice I will improve.

Beautiful bears! I love the pinto pattern too.
Thanks for the contribution and keeping this thread alive!
For dog photos, I try to stick to a shutter speed of at least 1/1000. This helps stop the motion and prevent camera shake, resulting in a sharper image. If you enjoy capturing dog photos, I highly recommend investing in a lens with a constant aperture of f2.8. You won't regret the investment.
I usually shoot dogs on manual mode (M) and around f3 aperture, shutter speed around 1/1000 or faster, and set my ISO to w/e it takes to properly expose the shot. Auto usually works great too - but be carefull with dogs that have dark faces or are white bc it can greatly under or overexpose the scene bc the camera is trying to expose only for the face. To avoid this, set your metering mode to evaluative. Trial and error from there to get your scene right (or close), but that's a good start! :)
Keep em coming! Would love to see more!

We had a Akita and he was the very best dog I had ever had. We had him for 14 yrs and it was the saddest day of our lives.

That's a good life tho! You can b proud you gave him that long of a life.
Did you have any bloat scares? I am always paranoid about bloat. We had an English Mastiff die from bloat as a kid, and my brother's Rotty just died from bloat too.

It's always a constant fight to get them to come in from the snow!

Mine will find the last patch of unmelted snow and lay in it all day.

One of the images I posted here was lost when I lost my PhotoBucket account.

So, again here is the original and one more picture of my sister's Akitas, Miki and George. Both were taken with 7D Mk2 and EF 70-200 f/4.0L
