Sapphire-Blue achieved with Tungsten White Balance. It's kind of sad ...but I returned to this spot to watch the sun set a few weeks ago - and a man took his life by jumping off the cliff in front of me while I was filming. It seems the height of the cliff (which is a couple of hundred feet high) has made it a popular lookout but it's also a popular suicide spot now. The local council tried to dynamite the cliff three times in recent years but were unsuccessful in destroying it. It's a popular location for picnics, whale-watching, fishing and scuba diving. Feb 09, 2017 23:21 | #3551 Image hosted by forum (839287) © Zomboni [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff. Six 30s exposures stacked in Affinity. At 16mm, a little bit of star trailing can be seen if you zoom in. This was my second attempt at capturing the Milky Way. Always ready to listen to CC.

mwcurtis Junior Member More info | I really like this. On most monitors you'll never notice the star trailing, at least I can't in the forum except maybe at the edges, which may be more your lens than the stars moving.

If anything I would say you could boost your ISO quite a bit, being that you're shooting on a 6D with that nice low-light sensor. If you were at ISO 800 you could do 6 exposures 4 or 5 seconds long and end up with virtually no star trailing. The bigger improvement could be to bump up to f/8 and ISO 800 in order to get the best sharpness of your lens and go to a handful of 15 second exposures. All that said, I'd be quite happy getting the picture you have produced. Oops, that should be ISO 1600. I wasn't planning on stacking, but then I picked up Affinity for $40.
