granted the differences are too close, I'de buy based on available money, size, and bokeh performance. In my eyes, sony wins out the bokeh performance with complex scenes. In the bokeh comparison, sony CLEARLY does better IMO, no sharp edges of highlights.

The bokeh on the Sigma 85 is pretty bad from what I've seen. I think its a good option for landscapers, but for portraits, its a non-starter for me.

I can't comment on the 50mm 1.8, but have used the 55mm and was pretty crazy about it. At the time I hadn't fully committed the Sony FE and decided not to keep it then. But I've been wanting it in my bag ever since. Looking forward to receiving it from BH on Wednesday.

Anyway, I think that that would be a nice move.

I'll say this though - I decided to buy it new rather than used so I can return if not 100% satisfied. Full price = buyer's insurance.

David....I added the FE 55 back to my kit recently and am impressed with it (again). I can't comment on its performance as a landscape lens because I've been using it for portraits, but wide open the lens is really sharp. Great colors and contrast too...The downside is the CA that others have mentioned, but also some onion bokeh.

I've been using the 55 as a substitute for the 85GM when I want to pack light and/or need a medium telephoto lens with a more flexible working distance and its worked well in that regard.

I'm so hooked by the 12mm that I now feel an overwhelming urge to add the 15mm. And if I do that, then switching from Batis 18mm/25mm to Loxia 21mm might make more sense. 12mm, 15mm, and 21mm are spaced out nicely. Not sure about a 21mm to 55mm gap (or a 25mm to 55mm gap). I may need to consider returning my 55mm and get something at 35mm (probably CV Ultron 35mm is my best choice). However, I do love the little 55mm: super sharp, lightweight, small, AF. Hate these conflicted decisions and limited budgets.

10 + 21 is how I'de like to roll, however, that leaves 35/50 as questionable. I think I'm going to keep with a good starburst machine, I just love it so much.

Speaking of the 85GM Autofocus. Here's an AF-C/Lock-on Flexible Focus samples... and he's on a race. Really fast.
Autofocus locks in very fast. and this was at F2 ISO40,000 on a poorly-lit skating rink

I feel the same way, 85 GM is not that tiny either... that FE 85 1.8 looks good, I wonder if FE 85 1.8 and FE 100 GM STF might be a better combo then 85 GM

Wow! Super clean lines and colors that pop. The low angle perspective is excellent. Did you do a lot of perspective correction?

No one mentioned the new 11mm full frame Irix lens?

Two versions, metal for 800ish and plastic for 500ish.

Manual with apperature control and exif transfer.

Almost no distortion.
