Well out checking out a wolf downed Deer and this dude tried to sneak in behind, 200 yards hand held with ext 1.4III In the early morning light. Living inside a Wolf protected zone can be Gruesome sight at time's for those not immune.

but it is part of life in the wild.............in the 2 1/2 years I spent in the interior of Alaska(early 70's) I never was able to see a wolf let alone take a shot(photo). Of course, that also just after they made it illegal to shoot them from an airplane which was a practice that would make anybody skittish!........

Ya their hard to get close to, The wolves in my area are protected. Their numbers are growing and the deer are hunted by everything. Theres nothing to keep the wolf in check now. I'm sure the Deer here will become like the wolves in Alaska... Hard to find.

Here ya on the wolves Jeff. We've seen them several times in our back yard. They are not protected here though.

Yes the MRN believe the wolf is a distinct new wolf from Algonquin. I don't really lean that way but hey..If it makes them happy. So they are protected and the deer are taking the brunt of it. While the numbers increase there is nothing controlling them now. its not like they were hunted anyway around here much but now the Wolves are taking deer down in our yards, seen running down side roads and playing in front yards at times quite regular. So it has changed things, Im not sure how it will play out but for now I'm expecting most of the deer I shoot to be wiped out before the wolf is in check. its like when they decided to remove the spring bear hunt and the bears ran the place for a while. In the mean time I need to be on top of the kills and get some good stuff because so far I'm not doing very well in the wolf category.

Its kind of a cool subject,.. They don't leave much behind ...morning of day three on this deer
