I have had a slew of Sigma glass, HSM focusing etc. Still to this day, initial "pick up the camera and aim and fire" goes to Canon glass. I keep hoping and trying, but at this point for sports shooting, I have to go with Canon. I liked where Sigma was going with the 50-150, but I need Canon to make that with their knowledge of their own AF system. I would use a range close to that quite a bit. 50-150 f2.8 (or faster, but the lens would be a beast I feel) could be a great sporting lens for me. For UWA, I like the Tokina, minus the flare once in a while, and the image that is rough around the edges (pun intended), plus it works as a 16mm f2.8 prime on the 5D. I cannot rationalize the 11-24L for what I shoot, I would LOVE that lens.
