My first attempt with doing Selective Color The flags should probably be facing the other direction, but that's the way the wind was blowing, and where the view is.

Once upon a time, I worked retail, and we would get pin-back buttons to promote the release of movies. I wonder if I could sell them...

As twilight falls, more than four cows seem to be creating a giant abstract Zen garden...

Nicely done, dixiedawn. I particularly like the flags. I concur about the graffiti; I see it all too often.

Stiga, great start to the March hunt!

Okay, this was FUN.
I spent some time a couple days ago working on a series of Polaroids with the inspiration of "Transition to Madness". These are the two that I feel best represent Transition and Madness, and frankly I think either one could be used for either word - which is sort of what I was going for. At some point if I decide on maybe 8-9 final shots for the series I might take a photo of them all and post it, but for now I'll just post these two.

Madness:
The idea was for the final photo in the series to be confusing and a little off, a jumble that you had to look at a couple times to figure out what was going on. So I tried this one, which is a double exposure using a filter that produces three images per exposure. I tilted the camera one way for the first exposure, and another way for the second. When I first saw the result I was disappointed, because I only saw three of my head tilted to the left. But then I looked at it a bit longer and all I saw was three Timm heads tilted to the right. And I was like, whoa. It became one of those optical illusion type things that kind of switched back and forth as I kept looking at it. Because of that it easily could be called "Transition", but this was attempted as "Madness" so I'll stick with that.

Taken with a Minolta Instant Pro (which is just a rebranded Polaroid), using filter f104 and Impossible PZ600 Silver Shade Cool film that expired in 2012.

Transition
The idea behind this one was a little simpler. Just trying to show face that's changing, as part of a change from sanity to madness sure, but just a simple transition lol. I used two filters on this one: one splits the photo into five images, which all by itself kind of changes the faces by obscuring parts of them and changing their locations. And I also used a motion filter, which blurs one side of the photo from the middle on - and by doing that it kinda makes it appear that the face itself is changing, even though it's the exact same face for each of the five faces. So I'm calling this one "transition", even though when I look it I could certainly make a case for this being the "madness" photo.

Minolta Instant Pro with filters f105 and f101, Impossible PZ600 Silver Shade Cool (exp. 10.2012)
