A bit of madness from a sculptor

Okay, this was FUN.
I spent some time a couple days ago working on a series of Polaroids with the inspiration of "Transition to Madness". These are the two that I feel best represent Transition and Madness, and frankly I think either one could be used for either word - which is sort of what I was going for. At some point if I decide on maybe 8-9 final shots for the series I might take a photo of them all and post it, but for now I'll just post these two.

Madness:
The idea was for the final photo in the series to be confusing and a little off, a jumble that you had to look at a couple times to figure out what was going on. So I tried this one, which is a double exposure using a filter that produces three images per exposure. I tilted the camera one way for the first exposure, and another way for the second. When I first saw the result I was disappointed, because I only saw three of my head tilted to the left. But then I looked at it a bit longer and all I saw was three Timm heads tilted to the right. And I was like, whoa. It became one of those optical illusion type things that kind of switched back and forth as I kept looking at it. Because of that it easily could be called "Transition", but this was attempted as "Madness" so I'll stick with that.

Taken with a Minolta Instant Pro (which is just a rebranded Polaroid), using filter f104 and Impossible PZ600 Silver Shade Cool film that expired in 2012.
