Wow, that's a hell of a price! I would snap it up if I didn't have one already! :D

GLWS!

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Sam.... A guy can't have too many 500mm lenses ! ;-)a You really should consider a spare !

Seriously though, it is a veery good price, thanks for that.
I don't think people realize just how good theses lenses are until they experience them.

All I can say CK is do what you have to do to raise the funding. You will never regret it.

This lens will bring out in your work a quality you thought was unattainable.

You only go round once you know..... Time to live a little, up close and personal !

I see from your avatar your in NH and FL. I'm in S.E. Fl. and have been watching this. Is the lens in Fl. or NH now? Also, if you don't mind me asking, why are you selling it?

Thanks, John

Hi John, thanks for checking in.

The lens and I are here in the sunny south, up near St. Augustine.

As I'm sure you know, this lens requires a little bit of a commitment. When I used it, it meant a tripod and gimbal, athough many photographers say hand holding this lens is completely and easily doable.

To your question about the "Why" ......... What I have on my plate is the construction of a new home in NH in the Spring. Time constraints will be many and I think I'll be more apt to sneak away with my 100-400 for an hour or so here and there, shooting from the hip as it were than making an all day event out of it.

This means the lens will languish in the closet for another 18 months or so till completion and Time is of the Essence ! ;-)a

Drop me an email and I'll give you my phone number if you'd like to talk. Happy to meet somewhere, sometime if you are serious. Would make a nice sale for us both with no PP or shipping and you could see for yourself.

I got Viera and Merritt Island on my list....

Thanks CK ;-)a

That image was made one awesome day at Ding Darling NWR on Sanibel Island, (SW Fla) where the birds are always cooperative and sooo photogenic !

The lens is sophisticated enough that they wrote a book to go along with it !

Hi Charlie ! Thanks for checking in.

To your question, Kinesis makes the backpack.
It's in excellent condition with no odors, tears or snags. It's about as discreet as something like this can be ! ;-)a
The pack is well made and well padded. It's an expandable system that is both comfortable to wear and offers great protection to the lens nestled inside when not out and doing what it was made to do.

It is similar to this one....

Frankly, for now I would like to hang on to it and give a buyer of this lens the benefit of the few goodies I collected to make working with it easier, but I'll keep you in mind if somehow no-one wants it with the sale !

I'm telling you, the buyer of the bundle wont appreciate the goodies!

I need a suitable bag for my unconventional 600 f5.6, and that looks like it might work :-)
