Poor man's Malayan Horned Frog - Perak Spadefoot Frog / Perak Horned Toad (Xenophrys aceras). He/she doesn't look too happy to see me. Highlands of Pahang, Peninsular Malaysia. We also meet the other poor man's horned frog, i.e Xenophrys longipes.

Wonderful critter you come across while looking for snakes! Adult female Orchid Mantis (Hymenopus coronatus). Definitely one of the most well known and most beautiful species in the world. Peninsular Malaysia.

Cute little juvenile White-spotted Cat Snake (Boiga drapiezii) spotted by John about a month ago, Selangor, Peninsular Malaysia.

Paul - been to Maliau and Danum but wasn't really into night macro yet back then :(. Wasted. Not cheap to go there so i'll probably check out other places first. Been to Mulu but that was way before I had a DSLR!

I am the rich man here. Seen the real horned frog: Megophrys nasuta, and the other two poor man's horned frog: X. aceras and X. longipes. There is one in Kinabalu that I am still after though.
