I second Tom's recommendation. A used 7D Mark II, along with a sigma 150-600mm would be a good combo for wildlife and should be under your $2000 budget.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

The base of my 5DIII has identical wear to the paint just from rubbing against my jeans while being carried around - not necessarily a sign of excessive use.

Must be the... Most. Uncomfortable. Jeans. Ever.

Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.

Thanks everyone so much for all the help.

I think I will be buying the 80D body with the 18-135MM USM lens as a everyday use lens. Plus a good wide angle lens for milkyway pictures.

Not sure what to do about wildlife yet. I want to photograph a lot of cool animals, but hopefully they will be close enough for now :D I am living in the jungle after all.

If there is any good wildlife lens you recommend Tom, but perhaps a bit cheaper price. I wouldn't mind a suggestion!

Thanks again!

Okay so here is my package so far.

80D
18-135mm usm for everyday use.
Tokina 11-16mm for milkyway.
Vello Freewave Plus Wireless remote.
Should I get the 55-250mm as like an "entry" lvl from wildlife? For better zoom than the 135? Or should I just wait and safe for the sigma?

Thanks

You should be able to get 80d, 18-135, 11-16, and 150-600 for close to $2500...may have to wait for deals, but I'd say it's doable, especially if willing to buy used

Hey DreDaze,

I have to buy from b&h as they are the only one shipping to Mexico.
Not sure if they have used ones(?)

I just noticed the remote that I wanted is not compatible with the 80D.

Can anyone recommend a remote that I can use that would be great for continuous shooting? So I can just set the camera to shoot milkyway pictures for some hours. Also a remote for me to be able to take a picture on distance.

Look for a Intervalometer. That should fit your needs.

This will help explain.........https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intervalometer (external link)

As for what will work with an 80D........talk to B&H

Don't even begin to think I'm criticizing your images.
Just a natural curiosity.

Amazon.mx is really expensive and US amazon won't ship the products I want to Mexico.
Ebay will only use USPS which is a no no to mexico because it will take 2 months for something to arrive.

Since when does ebay only use usps? What about things from japan, or china?

What does your current kit consist of again? If you've already got something in the walk around range, just buy 80d body only $1,100...150-600c $1,000...find a used 11-16mm first generation for $400

I have the 7d2, Canon 18-135 STM, Sigma 150-600 and Tokina 11-16 all bought on the recommendation of members of this forum, and am very happy with all of them. Once the new Sigma 24-70 Art is released I'll probably upgrade my 18-135 but until then it works great on my 7D2 and my M3, and the 150-600 really is an amazing lens for the price!

Yeah I found the 80D body for 1100.

But the thing is that I will be taking a lot more pictures than wildlife. Probably more everyday pictures than wildlife to begin with.

Right now the kit is

80D+18-135mm usm for $1450
11-16mm for €450
backpack as I am traveling
cleaing kit and protection.
