I have seen this home on the other size of town for many years. I suspect it has been abandoned now at least 20 years. A year ago it did not look near this bad. The past winter it has really gotten worse, but not due to the weather... it has been a very cold winter, but for my area really not that much snow. We have gotten some rain, but no flooding.

A year ago the side room and roof looked much better than it does now. I was really surprised the first time I saw it a few weeks ago. Now it is getting worse each week

I would think the city may be forced to bring it down soon now that it looks like this.

Just as well. A knock could bring the whole thing down.

Hey, All!

There's a story that ties into these photos!

Back in the winter of '06, there was a serious storm/flooding that hit the Oregon coast, I headed over there and met my daughter and on the way out, we encountered this building, whether it was a stand-alone home or some kind of "shop", not sure, but it definitely was Abandoned and Dilapidated!

Well, Hey, Gang!

I imagine some of you may be a bit familiar with some of the historical aspects of our North American Continent, including history that goes back to the settlement of some of what became our homeland by tribes, peoples that developed over time to become the honourable Native American culture!

What may not be so familiar are stories of one of those tribes, called the Anasazi. this tribe "thrived" for several hundreds of years -- over time their culture was inherited by others such as the Navaho and other tribes!

Over time, the Anasazidisappeared and left "pieces" of their culture, especially ruins of their inhabitations. In fact, the Mesa Verde National Park is the "home" of many of these ruins, which have been "labeled" Cliff Dwellings!

I will say that this history plays in my heart, and as a kid places such as Mesa Verde became "special", and I have found other "relics/signs of the past over the years...

so, I'll just say -- back sometime in the '90s I was visiting family in Colorado, one of the Four Corners states known for this Native American background! And so we roamed, and made it to Mesa Verde. I had an old film camera with me, and here is an old, soft shot of one of the reknowned Cliff Dwellings, and this picture plays a place in my heart!!!
