A pohutukawa tree cling to the cliff, a common sight on this coast. Apparently the roots go into the ground as far as the trees lean out. It's know as the NZ Christmas tree because it has red flowers at Christmas time.

My cousin lives in NZ, he sent me pics Christmas time of these trees in full flower, its an impressive sight. In fact he regularly sends me pics of his travels and my phone has just beeped in the kitchen and its him in contact now. It's nice to see the island from his perspective of living there. The M5 seems to be working well for you, did you take any other bodies or did you go cold turkey and only take the one........... ??

NZ is a great place for photos. I really enjoyed having some different subject matter.
I took the M5 (one reason for buying was this sort of thing. However I did also take the 15 - 45 M and Canon M 22 f/2, and Tokina 11 - 16 f/2.8, and Tamron 90, and Tamron 70 - 300. I took the Tamron long tele for raptors, but missed their time slot, so it sat in may bag, had the nifty fifty stm cos it's smal and sharpl, but didn't use it.. Tamron 90 not used. Took a few with the kit 15 - 45, but overall have become fussy after using good glass, and while I'd need to check in Lightroom, think most were 22 f/2 and the Tokina. Next time I'll be reducing it for sure. Also carried my laptop as can't leave in the car.

It doesn't matter what you take, whatever you leave behind is what you should have defiantly taken because it caused you to miss 'that shot'.
I used to take the 17-55 and 100-400 everywhere with me wherever I went to try and cover everything.

I guess I was taking snaps really, although if got the time right for the raptors would have tried my best regarding any shots.

These are just holiday snaps taken with great kit

Bought a fotasy adapter for FD lenses as I have a couple belonging to a Canon film camera I bought cheaply, and read the 28 /2.8 was supposed to be a good lens. I like the way it gives a sort of retro look, although the light was unusual as well. At Haumoana.
I'm not so good at manual focus so simply set the lens at infinity.

I have a ThinkTank Mirrorless Mover 10 that I used to carry my original M, 22, and 18-55 in. Unfortunately, while the M5 with 22 f/2 will fit, I can't really get another lens in there with it.

When I got the M5 I picked up the Mirrorless Mover 25i and that will fit the M5 w/ attached 22f/2, along with the bare M, 50 1.8STM on adapter, 11-22, and the 18-55 or 18-150. I'm pretty happy with that setup. I haven't tried making it work with a different lens mounted on the M, although it might be possible with some rearranging.

Conveniently that makes it a light and versatile kit to walk around with while having two bodies and four lenses. I took it out recently but pulled out the 18-55 and space for the M, and took my LX100 in their place.

I'm looking for a case for my M5 as well. I was looking at the Mirrorless Mover and the MM5 is way too small. The 10 looked like it can hold camera and a lens. The 20 can probably hold what I need (M5, 22, 11-22, strap and charger). The 25i and 30i are too big but you never know. Since I couldn't decide, I'm having all 5 bags sent for review. Lol.

I also saw the Urban Approach which is a messenger style bag for mirrorless. Have those coming as well. Lots of reviewing to do.

For what you're looking to carry, the MM20 should work I imagine. I wanted the extra space the 25i afforded, and the bag is certainly not large.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have a lot of bags to choose from. They should be here Friday and I'll take a look at them over the weekend.

I'm getting a little annoyed with the 1/4000th when trying to shoot wide open on a bright sunny day....... with the 85mm, 50mm 1.8 and 1.4s... but, i still loving this cameras!

Lens profile for EF-M 18-150 now in Lightroom/PS with the Lightroom CC 2015.9 & ACR 9.9 update today. Now all we need is this lens in the POTN database.

I'm hoping canon releases an update that allows Electronic Shutter to surpass 1/32000th like the Fuji... but i wont hold my breath... i prefer shooting my subjects wide open..... here are a few shots maxed out at 1/4000th a big over exposure for my liking..... but.... eh.

Video tracks well for slow moving subjects..... not good for fast moving! for video fun this camera is great, bt i think Magic Lantern can help this camera out alot more.
