Took the family ( girl, boy and bump 8 days away from arrival ) to the beach this afternoon. As we were there, the coastguard came in to do a simulated rescue. Only had the 56mm as my longest lens, I did what I could with a lens that was really too short. :-(

I finally bought the 35mm f2 for my x-e2 and I'm really enjoying it.

Thanks. Criticism is always welcome. My experience in video and audio recording/editing is minimal.

Keep in mind that many of the attributes of the video were either intentional aesthetic or constrained by the limitations of the space and available lighting. It sounds like there's a little bit of audio clipping that I may be able remedy with the existing WAV file. And next time I'll be sure to top off the mason jar.

Also, I can't get the youtube video embedding code to work here. Http, https, iframe and object code ... nothing seems to work.

My audio and video experience are less than yours :).

My suggestions are minimal.

The bright areas which do not contribute to the story I found distracting. Specifically, the white paper, the white part along the lower right corner (door jam?), the rim light along the leg and the light which occasionally flashed off the upper side of the body of the guitar. None are a big deal, but flagging them off (and removing the paper) would have left a guitar magically floating in light. And, of course, the mason jar, as the grounding.

C&C always welcomed...
On my images, of course, and on my words as well--as long as it's constructive :).

I agree with your observations. The paper, which seemed insignificant at the time, amounted to disproportionate frustration later. And flagging that leg is a good idea. There wasn't much I could do about it at the time. I might be able to eliminate it in editing.

View of the back of the big house beside mine. Love being able to walk the grounds day or night.

Nice place.

My first impression was that it looked like some kind of an asylum, but I'm sure it's still a nice place, tranquil with pastel-colored walls and no locks on any of the doors. ;-)a

So I have been dying to replace my sigma 50-150mm f2.8 OS since selling it off with my last canon body. It was my favorite lens so the Fuji 50-140mm f2.8 has been in my sights for a while and I'm to impatient to wait on the next batch of rebates. So, thanks to the weak candian dollar I decided to head to Canada and make my own rebate with the exchange rate!

I was going to post a stiched pano of the Detroit river front taken from the Canadian side of the river (since I was in Canada after all) but the high winds in the area yesterday knocked out power at the house. So instead you get a picture of the cat shot with the 50-140!

They let me out at weekends.

It's a super nice place that was almost fully restored by Desmond Guinness [yes of the drink] and then given to the Irish people. The OPW do a good job of keep it well. I'm lucky to have shot inside for a wedding last year and a couple of events also. Staff are all so nice. Sadly the access is now very limited, just to tours, due to the over active health and safety bods :(
I might have a snap of the great hall somewhere, if I come across it I'll pop it up.

Gremlin, cat pics are the only acceptable form of showing off a new lens so the Internet is happy you didn't post a stitched panorama :-P

Everything is relative.
