Again, just not sure if I wanna spend that much again on just speed lights like this.

The AD360 will put out as much light as 5 Canon 600RT, recycle faster, last MUCH longer with it's beefy battery. From a reliability stand point, they seem to be near perfect. All at half the price, so you are not compromising at all IMHO.

In the US right now the manual only version best price is Adorama, and also very good warranty coverage. If you don't need ETTL in these lights, then I'd grab the Adorama units.

....

obviously HSS and TTL is what I want. I shoot canon so yeah

thanks again for everyone's input thus far

Not obvious at all. By the way, the manual ones can do HSS, you just need to buy a different transmitter for about $40.00 or less.

I use the manual ones pretty much all the time. I own one of the ETTL because it went on stupid low sale price, but have never used it yet. Lot's of people love the ETTL on these, but I find I am always shooting manual, so different strokes..

P.S. the manual or ETTL ones pair up very well with the Godox Lithium powered speedlites too :)

The Godox AD200 / eVOLV are really worth considering now as well.

yeah I mean I will keep this in mind.

I am just used to changing the settings on my wireless from the top of my camera (currently use the yn600ex with the e3 transmitter so I can do it all from the top of the camera with the trans)
I'd assume they have to have TTL to do that? even if its from the transmitter and not the camera itself but yeah

I don't mind spending the little extra.
If I always had someone to assist and I wasn't constantly having to change settings or move quickly, I'd stick with manual but sadly I can't afford to run back and forth a lot.

so I think I goofed on what ETTL was
I forgot it was metering
I thought it was the only way to control the flash through the transmitter/camera

Can I do this on manual ones without TTL through the transmitter?

I only have ETTL on my yn600ex
I honestly hate when it overrides and I change it manually on the transmitter os I think I answered my own question

Honestly right now I think the manual xplor 600 from flashpoint is kinda what I want

Looks to be everything I'll need for a long time. And still very portable

yeah I might -.-
I'm very indecisive

I'll browse stuff over the weekend and do some more research
I feel like in the long run the xplor 600s would be better to have a full set of for me

The manual only flash can be power controlled from the transmitter.

You can put each unit on the same frequency but in a different group. Adjust each one by itself.

C&C always welcomed...
On my images, of course, and on my words as well--as long as it's constructive :).

The other good option to consider for Canon at the moment is the Jinbei HD-610 / ORLIT RT610 (RoveLight).

By far the biggest plus for those is integration with the genuine Canon RT master flash (and ST-E3-RT etc).

Which sounds like you don't really need, though the other advantage is the 20 watt modelling light, where the AD600 modelling light is pretty useless.

Big advantages to the AD600 are the remote head option, and the whole system line up. You could get one AD600, and some AD200 to work nicely with them as well (and you may well find you just carry the AD200 at times).

Both systems have some pretty strong advantages and disadvantages at this stage.

Ya I think I'm gonna start with the ad600s
I have the RL600s before and they were ok
I think these will be more than enough
I do mostly outside work so model lamps wouldn't be much use
So ya
Thanks again for more ideas

Although I have the YN600EX which is the E3 system but not the genuine canon
If it all worked with that at least my old flash could be used as a small fill or rim light

Yeah something like this is what I wanted
Thought about maybe one of them and modifiers to start.

/edit

is there much of a difference between the godox, cheetastand, flashpoint ones?

I know the cost is crazy different but wondering if any actually perform significantly better?
seems like they would all just be the same build just different names

http://www.cheetahstand.com …0xc-2l4500-1x1ctx-acc.htm (external link)
seems like a decent deal
my buddy told me he got his CL360s for like $400 by going to the warehouse haha
-.-

Adorama cut a deal with Godox to be the only US importer of the TTL capable AD600, the AD360II is only TTL.
All the triggers and speedlites are identical except for naming conventions.
Adorama and Cheetah offer warranty service that is essentially the same.
The TTL version 600 is more expensive than the manual only version. That, other than specials, is the only significant price difference.
Cheetah is offering the newly released AD200 with the barn door, grid, gel accessory kit. As is Adorama.
