I used an 80D and Sigma 150-600C last May in Yellowstone. I think you'll like the combo. I'm hoping to go back this May. I haven't really played with video yet, but I'm hoping to shoot more this year - I like the idea of 600mm with the 3x@1080p.

I have an album on my smugmug page for Yellowstone (link is in my signature). Most of the wildlife shots are with the combo.

Congrats on getting to go to Yellowstone!

edit: One thing I learned about video last year was if you are using a tripod, be sure to turn off your OS on the lens. I know it's common knowledge, but I didn't think about it and the OS caused shaking that ruined some videos. Rookie Mistake!

Hello Sandwedge!

Thanks! I am really looking forward to the trip. Will be at fishing Bridge from May 7th to 21st. This will be our 6th trip out. Last trip was in Sept of 2015, had the 150-600 but only a T2i for the body. Took some great shots with that combo. Purchased the 70d (Canon Refurb) in Dec of 2015 thinking that I could get a year in practicing with it. One of the biggest things I did not like was having to switch lens when mainly out for landscape and along comes some wildlife that I want to shoot. Lost a lot of opportunities while doing the switch and then ready but the wildlife was gone! So, while planning for this upcoming trip I decided to get the 80D. I purchased through Canon refurb site at a great deal so I am quite happy now. Nothing like having both cameras with you and just having to reach for the 150-600 and start shooting! I hardly do any video but it is nice to have that available with the 600 on it! Here is one of the first pics I got when I finnished with the AFMA on the 150-600.

Just a quick shot yesterday evening, the large birds weren't out.

Went to Orlando for a week last month. Instead of taking my 5Dmkiii and L lenses i found my 80D and 18-135 IS USM did an outstanding job.

Well, I have been trying to decide what to do since i am headed to the Masters Golf Tournament the first week in April. They only allow cameras there on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. No cameras on tournament days.

So I have been trying to decide like I said. I'll have my 80D --- and think I have set on taking the 18-135 for the Tuesday practice round and bring the 70-300L for Wednesday which will include the Par 3 contest.

On Tuesday I should be able to get plenty of landscape shots of the grounds with the 18-135 and then be able to get a little closer for player shots on Wednesday with the 70-300L. I contemplated taking just the 15-85 EF-S on Tuesday but I still want more reach flexibility. They have a lot of restrictions and rules there at Augusta so you can't carry a lot of gear around in a bag. They have strict limitations on the size of bags and even the length of lenses.

Hope this works out since this is a "Bucket List" adventure. There won't be a second chance.

Flickers are my favorite birds to photograph these days. They're extremely shy, I can't get close to them without a blind.

I saw this tit while on a walk and surprisingly managed to get close enough for some shots:

Stuck in the house at the moment after a cycling accident, so finding interesting subjects isn't that easy. I liked the way the sun was casting a shadow from this ornament.

Excellent, Michael. I have the same lens and 80D so will have to give it a try when the bees emerge from their UK hibernation. Haven't seen any lately!

Thanks! The willows are just starting to bloom here and there aren't too many bees around yet. I hope to take lots of shots in a week or so (if the weather holds). Hope you'll take some cool photos and post them here!
