These are good thoughts!

I mentioned earlier that for me the 1D3/70-200 was my "go to" combination for sports/action, a combo that was ideal!

Now, the other 1D bodies have all had good qualities, and we've heard good reports about the 1D4 especially and the 1DX!

If you are interested in this type of photography, well, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this combo!!!

Like was mentioned, I didn't have the "spot" problem with my 1D3, it was just not an issue...

When I was first looking at the 1D3, there were numerous reports of problems with a good AI Servo performance, keeping the focus up to par, and then Canon recalled them all in, and came up with a fix. I kept my eye on things, and when fixed bodies began to be released, I grabbed one off of Amazon, got it, and put it through a whole lot of testing for the AI Servo AF performance, and was quite happy!

As to the "spot problem, my one thought would be to use the heck out of it, and then to be prepared for quick sensor cleaning (I would resort to liquid/swab cleaning as needed, although I did have Rocket blowers handy), but since I didn't see that problem, but still that would have been my approach

If there is a consistent problem, I'd hope that Canon would "catch" some kind of defect, definitely keep looking out for some kind of recall/fix

But for overall use, these bodies have performance featured, both in AI Servo AF performance, and then, yeah, the 10 fps functionality does deliver, sure, we can mention "spray andpray", it kind of puts a smile on your face, when capturing some action you point and focus and sure, do a bit of "spray"(and hope/ "pray" that you grab a real keeper, but in my experience, when getting some action that I really wanted to get something solid, I'd shoot a set of 3 or 4 shots, and guess what, it worked, I could get one or two shots out of that sequence that to me really delivered

Hi Tony! Sorry Ive been meaning to respond to your msgs but never got around. I'm sure all 1d bodies are well. My only experience close to the combo is a gripped 50d with 70-200 f4 which I really enjoyed and loved how the pictures came out. so I can only imagine a 1d2+ with 70-200 2.8 be even better :P I would use for events such as performances and weddings, not much towards sports.

thanks for the heads up about some models of the 1d3.

That's the trick, I don't work out ;-)a That's why I'm using the 1200 number and just going about my day. Also I've been very successful with that number as 1700 gave me 0 loss with exercise.

ooh I thought you were doing something :P

I guess if you want to lose more you will just have to put in more work. meaning.. start working out

Is it a metabolism thing? I'm not all that savvy on the science. I've just been doing low carb and occassional fasting (or more like skipping dinner). -?

I do weigh myself in the mornings but that's just to let me know if I'm heading in the right direction. I don't beat myself up too much if I stray. It just reminds me that I'm off the path and should get back on. That's me though. ;-)a

metabolism has a big play in it too :P im not well knowledge myself and I lake metabolism. but I know eating instead of going hungry and doing some sort of exercise, like walking or something would help.

do you weigh yourself before or after you drop the kids off? lol if you want to feel lighter, make sure you let out the waste :P you'd be amaze how much they weigh o.o I don't weigh em but one time I weighed before and after hehe

Sorry took me a long time to come back here, I just got back home...

Martin, I visited this place last year, had to meet some of my relatives of course :D

All Nikon small cameras suck big time so had to settle with Canon, I was initially looking at the Sony RX100 III but then all Sony cameras in Japan don't have english menus. So decided on a Canon instead.

Yeap the temple is in Nikko, Just 2 hours north of Tokyo, pretty popular area... and old. Should be a good place to visit when you get a chance.

haha not familiar.... how are you?!

RAMEN!!!! Pho..... is so difficult to find anywhere hehe

Hey Hey Hey.... Is that my Markins and Gitzo?? harhar!!! They must've thought they're leaving salt water for good when I sent them to you Baan? Good to see them in action again! Damn haven't been near a beach in almost 2 years :(

really? I never checked them out :P but I noticed one of the camera that has a fix lens looked really good in quality. really liked this.

yup, that's your tripod and head :P haha yeah its too bad and its gone sand in it and im too lazy to clean it too or do not even know how to clean it :P still works that's all that matters hehe. I really like it and id use it and bring it with me over smaller travel size tripods. just more easier and simple to use. small ones u gotta fiddle with. I don't mind the weight and size of the gitzo, if im gonna carry a tripod around it might as well be a good one :P cuz the smaller ones are still a hassle...

I've seen ads. I know it's sold out. Wondering if the hype will last. -?

probably not too long. the mini nes classic is more popular :P

the wii was a great success because it was new and fun at that time and great at parties. but it got old and the wii u was very bad in sales. Nintendo is not for serious gaming. im sure Nintendo fans would hate me for saying that :P but what I mean is in regards of a serious system. they are more towards renovations and gimmicks. you only buy Nintendo to play Nintendo games. you wouldn't buy it to play call of duty or something like that. im curious how well it'll do or if it'll do bad. to me it feels like an oversize handheld/portable system.

I mainly got it for Zelda and Mario kart. and thought its nice to have an easy to carry around system. don't care much to play with friends at get together.
