Compared to the original Tammy, they are very close optically. Depends which review you read. I chose Sigma due to extra features, Canon zoom orientation (Tammy zoom rotates like Nikon), and the Sigma usb Dock is great.

The Digital Picture review puts the Sigma slightly sharper at 600mm.
