question about a shot like this, i was always curious, do folks normally so a composite or possible to do this in a single shot? i imagine standing still is really though?

When dealing with the horizon in the image it's usually a single shot unless they are doing a star trail image which then multiple images are stacked for a single image .

A selfie under the stars from last night, Im quite frankly amazed it came out so well with the abundance of light pollution present

Through them, not in front. The clouds were dissipating quickly and about less than 30 seconds after this shot was taken they were gone. This from being completely socked in and unable to see the mountain about 5 minutes before that.

Zion Canyon from the overlook. Light trails made by all the sunset photographers making their ways back down to the valley floor.

I don't think I've posted in this thread before. Figured I'd share a few. Three versions of the same image from last fall.
