I bought the body and I'm renting the lens. So far after a couple of test shots wide-open I'm not overly impressed with how sharp it is, or isn't but I have it for the whole weekend and I'm gonna shoot it as much as possible. They also have an adapter for my art series lenses so I might just stick with that adapter and keep my 24 in my 50 mm lenses and just work towards the G series 85mm for portraits

I've not come across many reviews where the people were actually impressed with the sharpness. Since I don't use it for action, I can live with the slowish AF of adapted lenses. VanillaImaging.com

Yeah I don't need fast auto focus either. I normally shoot prime is for this reason but I figured since I was selling everything and getting made of lenses I would give this a try for the weekend. I'm going to shoot more portrait work with it over the weekend and see how I feel. It would honestly just be for family sessions and stuff instead of having to swap from prime to prime so yeah. I really do want to get the adapter so I could use my art series lenses though but if I do that I won't be getting this 24 to 70 so I've got some contemplating to do

Mar 16, 2017 18:29 | #36 try the 85GM, very impressive if portraits are your thing. Very sharp with very smooth bokeh. Sony A7siii/A7iv/ZV-1 - FE 24/1.4 - SY 24/2.8 - FE 35/2.8 - FE 50/1.8 - FE 85/1.8 - F 600/5.6 - CZ 100-300 - Tamron 17-28/2.8 - 28-75/2.8 - 28-200 RXD

I have a Rovelight 600B, and 5 Godox 860's. I have been using the Yongnuo 622C-XC and 622C's for flash control. What type of flash radio controllers would I need to continue to use my flashes with the Sony A7RII? xplor 600, I ditched the RL, it was too cumbersome. Xplor 600, x1s transmitter, extension heads.... golden. Yongnuo's do work, but cumbersome fiddling with settings, so switched all to flashpoint aka godox.
