Nice shot. That reminds me of another "nice shot."
It happened over the Mekong Delta of South Vietnam in 1969. An AH-1G Cobra came back to Vinh Long from a mission with a bullet hole in the forward windscreen and it exited through the right rear window in the pilot's compartment. We put a string through the two holes and had the pilot and gunner sit in their seats. By all rights that one bullet should have killed them both, but the pilot was glancing to his left and the copilot was looking right, when they took the round..
We could imagine the VC on the ground throwing his rifle in the mud complaining that the AK-47 was a worthless P.O.S. Little did he know how well he did.

last flight of the Lynx Mk8 today - was a little disappointed with their flypast, they were 45 minutes behind schedule so kept flying.. they could have flown a little lower too :/

Thanks for the compliment, and most importantly, from one veteran to another, thanks for your service! I'm an old Army Aviation guy myself, I was an Aero Scout Crew Chief back in the day. :-)

I serviced the engines on the UH-1H, AH-1G and the OH-6A for B Troop, 7th Squadron, 1st Air Cav. 10-29-68 to 69. Where were you? I started out at Di An and then the unit moved to Vinh Long just before Christmas. I've been as far South as Rach Gia and North to Cam Rahn bay. I bought a Canon FT QL with a 55mm f1.2 at the PX for $137.00 then took over 500 slides with it, about a third of them from the air with my feet dangling out the side of a Huey.

I was over in Germany during the 80's and 90's.
