Mar 17, 2017 17:41 | #1972 I ended up ditching my Canon 70-200L f/4 as I just wasn't happy with the results I was getting. The last image was taken with my beginner lens the 55-250IS. I'm thinking I want to jump to the 100-400L. I plan on visiting Yellowstone this summer and have an Oregon visit coming next month. I would love to get some close up images of some wildlife. Any thoughts? Canon 6D, 16-35L f/4, 24-105L f4, 85 f/1.8

100-400L is my favorite lens. Look through some of my photos of a recent Air Show. Simply amazing quality. You will never look back!! That third photo is superb. I would love the second version of the lens but can get the first version more in my budget. Just not sure about the push/pull style of zooming. Canon 6D, 16-35L f/4, 24-105L f4, 85 f/1.8

My original thoughts too as for the push pull focus. Not an issue, trust me. In one outing and after 10 or 20 snaps you'll have it down. I honestly can not think of one draw back. I suppose if there were one, it would be the locking ring to hold focus or lock the lens from creeping. Actually, that for me was/is harder to get used to then the push pull focus. On and by the way mine is the original release model. I cant afford then newer version. Darrell
