Still on the learning curve with the new body and lens. This is my first FF and to date, I am loving it. Battery life seems to be on par with that of my 7D MKll. AF, with and with out the 1.4TC is excellent. Tried some BIF last night but it was a tad chilly and I was not dressed for that. IS really does not help much when you are shivering :)

I thought that way too.... then I sold it all off.

I typically don't sell lenses, I still have the 35-80 kit lens that came with my original Canon Rebel (the film version)

So I have been playing a bit with this camera & the new lens (24-70/2.8 II) & I am liking everything more & more. I even got brave enough to do a whole photo shoot for a family of 4 last weekend & today I saw the mom posted 58 of the 65 photos on FB so I guess she was happy.

My favorite subject is my 6 month old grandson who is more than willing to pose for me (unlike the others). One taken in low (window) light & one taken with bright daylight through the sliding glass door.

These are beautiful, Maureen. I'm so happy you are liking the new lens on the 5D4 - I think they are a fabulous wedding/family/portrait combination.

First time Ive used my 70-300L on my MKIV. I loved this lens on my MKIII, and i can tell its going to get a lot of use on the MKIV.

It's a nice little fall, if somewhat difficult to get to. The hillside leading down to it can get pretty nasty if it is wet. Let me know if you make plans to go up there, I will either give you directions or meet up with you somewhere. It is always worth the trip!

Thanks to some decent rain this winter, our wild flowers are just beginning their super bloom of the spring. They should peak by next weekend but we went out yesterday to the high desert and hiked the hills. It was stunning.

No ND filters. I rarely use ND filters for a stream/waterfall shot although it does happen. I do use a CPL in every shot, which brings the exposure down 1.5 stops or so. You can get good movement anywhere from 1/6 second to 2 seconds on the shutter, much of it depends on the water flow. In fact I will raise ISO if the shutter speed starts getting into the high 1s with the right combination of aperture and shutter speed.

Nice! I'm always a sucker for vapor cone shots.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.
