Jiu-Jitsu is a very important part of my life. I live to train and compete. It has helped me lose and keep off over 60lbs. Unfortunately due to the nature of the sport it can come with some injuries. I recently tore my meniscus and while I wait to find out what the Ortho wants to do I decided to photograph one of my favorite things. It'll probably look funny to most people but I hope you enjoy them anyway.

Love those, especially the ones with eye contact.

Nothing funny about getting folded in half or choked out.

These are sharp.

Really good shots; martial arts, and especially the more 'subtle' ones like Jiu-Jitsu are most often shot from poor angles, but these show the holds, etc nicely

Great shots. I train as well and have tried to photograph a few of my team mates in comps. Your photos are really nice. Could you explain the settings you're using as I am struggling to get mine right.

Also, post more if you can.

Thanks every one. I'll post more soon.

Bigjobs, these were taken with a 5DIII and a 135 F2. Settings 1/320, F2 and auto iso with single point AF and Al Servo on back button. Sometimes I will bump the shutter up a little more but 320 usually gives me good results. I actually have the camera setup so both the AF-on button and * act as back button focus. The AF-on is registered to a home point and the * is moveable on the fly.

thanks for that. I will play around with those AF and AI Servo settings. I think that's what was letting me down.
