First outdoor track meet for the season and a nice rainy day as well! Good thing about the cloudy/rainy day is no need to worry about harsh shadows.

My X-T1 came today, it's in better shape than I anticipated given that I paid about half of what I usually see them go for :)

Obviously I haven't had any real time to play with it, but just after the few messing around shots I did with it and setting up the settings how I like I think it's safe to say I made the right choice by going with the X-Pro2 over the X-T2... I pretty greatly prefer my X-Pro2's ergonomics over the X-T1.

After taking my 80d and X-T2 on a holiday I'll have to admit I was extremely pleased with the performance of the two crop sensor bodies.

What impressed me the most was the SOOC video quality from the X-T2.

This self portrait thing is hard, trying to have a conversation with your self to provoke a reaction, impossible.

Yeah. A self-portrait tends to feel like a bizarro dissassociative grudge match, which hopefully--but not always--pits equal minds against one another.

Going to practice this weekend when my flash arrives. What was your setup if you don't mind me asking?

the Fuji app is helpful. I used it to see exactly what my camera was seeing and used it to select the focus point I wanted.

I hate being in front of the camera, and I felt stupid the whole time as I was fumbling with the camera app and trying to not look so stupid.

I failed at not looking stupid.

Lol. The more I practice the better I can understand on how to position my subjects.

Don't mind at all. A 120 octabox with both diffusers in and a grid, so the spill of light is controlled, powered by a 600Ws monolight at 1/8 power or there abouts. That is attached to a c-stand with a 40' arm so it's boomed out. Pointed straight down and I'm placed just at the back edge so the light is only kissing my front. I also placed a big reflector on camera left slightly pointed towards me. Might have been another one in the floor too.
