Just coming back into the photography game after a really long break. To give you an idea, I haven't been involved since the 1Dx was announced, so it's been awhile haha. I think I'm ready to come back and buy new gear since I sold all my old stuff and while I was just going to pick up a 5D (although pretty old at this point, it was a solid workhorse from what I remember of my past experience), but came across the 6D. It looks like a pretty tempting option to get me back in the game with a FF sensor.

Good choice. The 5D is pretty long in the tooth. The 6D is a better choice at this time.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Yeah I knew it would be pretty old at this point, but figured it would be a cheap option to stay FF and get back into the game. I know it's a no-frills body at this point, but it was a bare bones option that I remembered being a pretty solid choice if you didn't need a ton of features. But you are 100% right that I will probably just pick up a 6D instead. For the extra money, it seems to be well worth it for what you get compared to what I was going to get. I'm excited for all the new things on the market that I get to read up on that I missed since I took my leave of absence.

I had also considered a 5Dmk2 as they are about the same price as a 6D (and I have previously owned a 5Dmk2 as well), but I think for the money the newer body and what Ive read lower light capabilities of the 6D make it the winner. I live in a pretty gloomy region so I could use all the low light performance I can get haha.

Thanks for the support on the 6D decision Scrum!

Still raining here so not had much chance to check the camera out fully but managed to grab the camera quick when I saw a pair of Noisy Miners in the garden whilst sitting under the pergola with a coffee. Really noticed the lesser reach than I normally have with my 7D2. I usually shoot at iso 400 or 800 and was wowed at the low noise when I opened them up until I realised that somehow the camera was set to 100  Nevertheless, it shows the superb IS on the lens as one shot was 1/40 sec at full stretch

The buildings are falling apart. They're sinking, they're riddled with asbestos and need a new electrical system. The cost is a minimum of 3.5bn, yes I did say billion. Knowing how government projects in this country tend to over run ( time and money ) it will probably at least double that figure. If the MP's stay in there whilst works are ongoing, the time to complete is estimated is 30 years ? ? ? ? ?

Thanks Chris. I think the buildings are fascinating as well. As lovely as the outside appears, it is equally so on the interior. Just wish pictures were allowed inside!
