Wow! If those bb game photos were taken with the 80D @ 12,800 ISO, I'm sold. Sharper than my 7D @ 3200. Thanks for the clarification.

OK, I went ahead and pulled some youth sports shots with high ISO's. These aren't my best shots, but I quickly went through and found ones that were in focus with various ISO's. The football shots were with a 100-400L, and basketball were with a 70-200 ii. I'm not sure that you get an ideal perspective (does loading them to my website and then linking change anything?), but these are all straight out of the camera jpegs with no other editing or cropping. Along with Pigpen, if anyone would like an original file sent to them, just pm me.

I wanted to shoot more bees today but the only ones I found were so deeply buried in willow catkins that I couldn't get a good shot.
Then I found this funky looking insect:

That's OK. Still at 6400 & 12800 much sharper than my 7D at 3200. My camera in most conditions wants to shoot around 3200 so knowing that I can occasionally go a littler fast shutter speed is nice to know. Thank you.

That bee shot is awesome. Any thing else used: flash, tripod, focusing rail?

I bought a Yongnuo ring flash but my 100mm macro needs to go to the shop so I can't try it out yet.

Thanks! I used a flash (Speedlite 430II) on a flexible arm/gooseneck. No tripod or focusing rail, I do all my macro shots handheld.

I used a similar setup but added a snoot to the flash so I could light subject only and get as much of the rest of the shot to go "black". Worked well, but was awkward in the field that's why I thought I'd give the ring light a chance.
