.....mmmmm......now it's starting to look grey on top.

atsilverstein wrote in post #18306308 (external link)
Yes, my hair does appear a tad grey.. but I seem to remember a marked improvement in your edits after you had your monitor recalibrated a while back - perhaps chronic computer color problems?

Okay guys, I guess I went a bit too far:oops:. I have edited my version above to remove gray-looking hair. Any better?

Please remember that my edit was not intended to compete with the original. Rather it was to merely illustrate what the photo might have looked like with a hair light.

I really like this one, Angela. How did you get yourself in focus?

I've always been fascinated with the violin. Unfortunately I'm not coordinated enough. I think I'd end up sounding like a screeching banshee.

Mini-noir project! I get to be the the victim and the shadowy perp. :-P What do you think of the black bars for aspect ratio; leave them? Crop it?

Love the image and the noir quality and agree the bars need to go.

If you have a problem with the aspect size/aspect ratio I have a suggestion.

It will initially sound odd to you, but simply duplicate the layer and scale it vertically until the bars are gone. it's a 17% vertical stretch, but because of the angle of the model I think it is very workable. Live with it for a few moments. Most viewers, if they had not seen the original, will not notice any abnormality. It just looks like a different focal length was used.

This self portrait thing is hard, trying to have a conversation with your self to provoke a reaction, impossible.

This is a lovely image. And nicely done, too.
