Moody, subtle - I like the highlights on the strings. The dark background serves it well, but perhaps just a little bit more shadow detail to increase the interest; one man's opinion ;-)a

I'd like to see it with the same lighting but not quite so much of a profile. Raise the camera and move it laterally closer to get more of the front of the violin. Also clone out the stand and it's ugly prongs.

I agree with Mark.

Additionally when I said increase shadow detail I should have specified just near the instrument itself. The larger darker area now looks a bit washed out for fine art work, like a weak gray lacking in strong contrast. You can selectively do that in PS with an exposure mask layer. The solid blacks in the non-information areas looked just fine before.

I will reshoot this but it was actually an accidental shot in between self portraits, but now I know what I need to do.
