In almost any indoor athletic gym / hockey arena / horrible lighting setup, the 135F2 is the best lens there is period - it will be interesting to see if the Sigma 135F1.8 can surpass it in these situations.

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

I'm also curious to see how the Sigma compares.

I agree, for the price, the 135 is the best. I do love my 200 f/2 but in this instance it was just too long.

Sigma won't as they will still have focus issues........until they crack canons code - they will always have issues. :(

I've had 3 Sigma lenses. Used to own the 70-200 OS. Still have the 12-24 II & 15mm FE. I've never had a focus issue with any of them on: 6D, 80D, 1DIV. Also used the 70-200 on 60D/7D/5Dc. Surprise! Never had a focus issue there, either.
