Too much white and space.... it's distracting.
She should be the main focus of the frame and brighter than anything else in the frame.

I personally like it and if you do any collage work the negative space you left would be perfect!

Hey Jeremy, try a little more contrast in the first one so the powder pops out more against the dark background - I think that would convey more effectively.

Is this any better? I had it more like this, but pulled it back in the image above. I had to use a curves layer with masking.

I'm not a gymnast, but she brought her "gloves" as a prop, but didn't bring any powder or chalk so I had to improvise with baby powder (it worked, but probably wasn't the best). This was the 4th or 5th shot I took. I wanted a really "focused" or "intense" look, but I just couldn't seem to get it from her! LOL

Dannielle is for the class of 2018, just wanted to try something out tonight and she was up for it. The headshot I gelled my flash with a CTO and set my white balance to tungsten to make the sky go blue. Not sure yet if I like it or not though.

Trying to figure out white balance when using CTO gels. One more of Dannielle. The second one, the flash is not gelled.

Looks a little on the red side on my monitor. May be increase the hue by 2 or 3 and see?

Getting away from the gels for awhile. Here's my latest two. Their parents haven't made their choices yet so these are just a couple quick edits for them to see what they would look like.

I don't shoot a lot of natural light, but the wind was so bad on this day I got tired of worrying about my light and softbox blowing down the canyon!

Please try some more contrast on the first one to make it pop more; seems to be all washed out...unless that is the affect you wanted.
