I don't know if it's a general characteristic of the lens but the bokeh gets uglier the further from the lens. The focus of the image is fantastic and sharp but the very background of the image looks more like camera shake rather than bokeh.

Yeah I hadn't really noticed it until you've mentioned it.

I wonder why it's like that? At 2.8 there should be some lovely bokeh going on there, instead there is one almighty chromatic aberration party going on back there!!
