Well I can safely say I am IN LOVE with the A7Rii
I can't believe I was afraid to switch

These are some of the very first images I've shot with it and using adapted glass.
Metabones III adapter with sigma Art series lenses. Mainly the 50mm but yeah
Don't worry, I upgraded the adapter today haha
I am frickin' BLOWN AWAY by the quality compared to my 5D Mk III and my 6D (don't laugh, I loveddddddddddd this thing)

You're right. I came from 5D3 as well and I can really tell the image quality is different.

Welcome to the club.

It seems odd to say that we love an inanimate object, but after a series of Canon and other cameras, I...um...gulp...love the A7Rii.

$2k for the Batis 135?! No thanks.

There is some merit to the APO design as the Zeiss 135 f2 APO is renowned for its CA control wide open (most fast primes have CA wide open)....but the zeiss is an f2.8 lens, and most fast primes clean up in terms of CA by stopping down even 1/3 a stop.

edit: rendering of OOF highlights is not so great: https://keyassets.timeincuk.net …s/12/2017/04/DSC00174.jpg (external link)

Welcome! And yeah the 42mp Sony sensor is really special. Wait till you get that sigma adapter and get a chance to try eye focus!

I just got the Zeiss email this morning and went to look for pricing...yeah, no thanks. $2k for f/2.8 isn't gonna happen...that is just too much money. I like my 135L a WHOLE lot more now.

The MC-11 definitely creates a nice alternative to truly native glass!

I have almost went fully native but don't mind making an exception for certain things for example my samyang 24 and my zeiss 100-300. If I needed a 135mm lens I wouldn't mind re-purchasing the 135L (or buying the sigma 135)

yap not a good price. i also agree with the bokeh, not so great.

Has anyone tested the 135L with a good adapter? how's the AF.
