LEE vs Bombo, both with 4 adapter rings, LEE is made of high grade plastic, bombo stainless steel (the whole holder looks to be that way).

I have two Nissin Di700A's and an Air 1 Commander to control them and am very happy with this system. HSS and TTL is fully compatible with the Sony ar7 series of cameras.

https://www.bhphotovideo.com …_di_700a_flash_air_1.html (external link)

I rarely ever shoot with flash however I had purchased a small Sony HVL-F20M for the odd occasion that I required it however the little unit is really underpowered. I started looking for a replacement unit and there was alot of chatter on various boards about Nissin flashes so I bit the bullet and ordered a Nissin i60. The unit is really small compared to the full size speedlite that I used in my Canon days yet still very powerful for it size. The nice thing about it is it balances so well with the A7R, very happy with the unit.

The Bombo holder is really interesting, I've been using the Lee system for years on my Zeiss Ze lenses and it really is a great system. I'm thinking of picking up a CV 12 for a trip to England this coming May so I've been thinking about ordering the Bombo just for that lens.

My wife and I were talking about moving to someplace new. I've been yearning to move somewhere with more landscape photo opportunities. I have lived in Texas for most of my life. Oregon sounds nice. Of course any move would depend on where I can find an IT job. Anyway just thought about sharing this in case anyone has made a similar big move in their life. Would love to hear you feedback.

I've been in Boise for 15 yrs. Has grown twice its size since I've been here. Great climate. 4 seasons. Endless outdoor activities. You could spend you life as a landscape photographer in Idaho. Very diverse. Was in the mountains of Colorado for 10 years before Boise. No question that the west is the best.

Thanks Cory. Colorado would be another good choice since it's closer to Texas to visit family. I've heard Idaho is really nice too, especially around Boise.

Thanks Nick. I was looking at an article on Improve Photography and it ranked Utah as the top spot for photographers. #2 was Oregon and then Washington.

Wow, what a dream of an idea! :)
If I didn't need to be near my aging mom and dad, I'd love to live out west somewhere.

Personally I would prefer to go to a less-hip/fewer-people place in a Rocky Mountain state (or maybe defect to Calgary to get me some free healthcare and maybe grow some palm trees after the earth really heats up in a few years. :p).

We have some friends who up and moved from NY to tiny little Augusta, MT (near Choteau). Man, it is awesome out there on the eastern front.

The biggest bummer for me in moving to Georgia is now all those amazing wonders out west are pretty much too far to travel - just have to make do with the Appalachians. Wonder if I'll ever get to see Glacier National Park again, let alone places farther west in WA, OR, and CA.

Photography-wise, not sure if anything can beat UT - from all I've seen - never been though. :(

Bombo takes 2-3 weeks to arrive! The site is confusing and they have multiple holders, you need laser special edition. It's ultra thin, which is probably needed to prevent vignetting

Guys here's my first test of my new baby. The Panasonic Lumix LX100. i'm impressed. this thing is beautiful and lightweight. Bigger than the RX100 but it feels a lot better in the hands.

High ISO test

Since it's not Sony i just linked it.

Vinz what is the effective focal length on that Leica 24mm lens? I'm not sure the conversion factor for micro 4/3

i think that's already the equivalent. it's an equivalent to 24-75mm F1.7-F2.8 but when you zoom the varying changes of aperture is gradual. When you zoom the RX100V, it will change to F2.8 right away from F1.8.

i think the crop factor is 2

here's an ISO12800 with NR, aggressive sharpening and color graded.

PS: The AF on this thing is really point and shoot. very fast. and no shutter lag.

ok let me post a couple here if you guys don't mind. Some reviewers said they cannot go beyond ISO400 on this. I think they just don't know how to use the camera. Look at how clean ISO800 is. No noise reduction.

the guitar is ISO25600 ETTR. -3 on exposure on lightroom. No noise reduction.

the color also is accurate especially on the table since I used my expodisc for custom white balance.

can't wait to shoot this in good light. this evening i'm going to a party, i will try to use it with no flash at all.
