Nice colors!
My first thought about her expression was, "When photographing children who'd rather be out playing, you probably shouldn't tie their little hands to the fence behind them?" ; )

Uploaded from phone so it is SOOC. CC welcome. My wife thinks the reflection behind her from the light ruins it. Thoughts?

No, it doesn't. It actually adds separation from the background, preventing her hair from blending with it.

Yarek arrived from the Ukraine in New York for a symphony tour. Upon leaving the airport, half the orchestra disappeared into the city. There was never a tour, it was a scam to smuggle people into the US.

He worked hard for his citizenship, and now teaches at one of the best conservatories in the country.

Here are a few quick things I would do:

1) slightly reduce the exposure of this 'reflection' so that it is not the brightest object in the picture - it separates her hair from the background but needs the exposure reduced
2) similar thing for her left hand - too bright therefore draws the eye
3) crop the picture much tighter, cropping all or almost all of the reflection off the table which slices through her head
4) you can leave the exposure level on her white blouse - I would bring it down a little
5) i would use the liquify tool in PS to slightly reduce the eye opening size of her right eye and also slightly increase it on her left eye (doing a very small amount to each eye in the opposite direction will make a small but big difference) and make her face look more relaxed.

I did all this very quickly in LR & PS and then cropped it 1:1 and the cumulative small changes add up nicely - and that is without having the raw file where the end result would be much better.

You asked for CC - those are my thoughts.

Sincerely

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Haha, yep, kids are sooooo unpredictable. This was an outdoor park and she actually was playing. I was just following her around trying to capture the mood.
