Went by bestbuy and they had one open box for $1295 I was so damn tempted to get it but owning the a7ii I don't think it would have been the right choice.

Am I wrong?

I've had the a7RII for over a year and a half... and I still bought the a6500... to me, they are different tools. Was it wrong for you to pass on it? That all depends on your photography needs, and only you will be able to determine that.

Slept on it and at the end decided not to get it. Lets see what else Sony might come out with and then I'll make my decision.

Thank you all.

^^Nice!^^

Huge snowpack this year has the rivers crankin'! The Boise river in town has been flooding for weeks with no end in sight. Mountains are still loaded with snow! The greenbelt is under water in a lot of places.

Shots with new Samyang 12mm. Seems like a really nice wide angle for this a6500.

^^Cool Shot. Really like the B&W conversion.^^

Low light action. Aquatic centers are notorious for super crummy lighting and this one was no different.

E 50/1.8 @ 1.8, ISO 1600 got me SS's 1/400...barely fast enough. Used AF-c Flexible spot small. I don't think the a6500 would miss if you can stop it down a tad. Shooting sports at 1.8 is tough!

EDIT: Fixed the WB...Realized it was a bit green when editing todays shots.

Low light is the Achilles heal of the croppers. That said, I'll use fast primes and/or flash to work around that all day long in an effort to keep the smallest, most light weight, and inconspicuous set up possible. Otherwise, there's a lot of awesomeness packed into this little rig.

Pushed the ISO a little today.

Sony E 50 1.8 @ f/2, 1/500, ISO 2500. Kind of a hefty crop I would add.

I used to shoot fashion shows quite often, then I got burnt out... I stopped for awhile, but this past weekend I decided to shoot a little local show, but wanted to put the a6500 to the test (I used to only use my FF bodies). I mainly used the GM 24-70 and adapted Canon 135L (using the Sigma MC-11, which works pretty good, more so on static subjects, moving subjects is not as reliable)

with GM2470

Owyhee Canyonlands yesterday. No rattlesnakes this time! Still a bit early. Flat light and a bit of haze made processing these shots tricky.
