Hi there,

I've had my canon for a couple of years now. I'm only a beginner and wanting to upgrade my lense.

Looking for some advise on what's recommended for a better everyday use lense under £1000.

Regards

Andy

Canon ef 24-105mm f/4L.
You'd still have $600 left for another lens or upgraded body.

What lens/lenses do you have and what aspect are you trying to improve?

Do you need wider or longer or are you wanting better images within your existing focal range?

Depending on what you want then £1000 can buy some nice/very nice glass - but which one?

We can help more if we know what you have and what you are after. I have my preferences and favorites but they may not be of much use to you!

The more we know the more options we can suggest that you consider.

All the best.

At the moment I have the standard lense that comes with it...EF-S 18-55mm.

To be totally honest I'm not sure what I want myself...really I'll prob need 2 lenses as I love taking wide landscapes photos. But I'd want just a different lense for everyday, people/places/close up photos etc.

I've just been to Budapest lately and although I've gotten some lovely photos. I just feel they could be better.

Sounds like you need to try some different things out so get a feel for what you like. The 10-18 and 55-250 STM get you both wider and longer for pretty cheap. Then you might want to add a faster prime here or there. The 24/2.8 stm gives you a nice wide angle and the 50/1.8 is good for shallow depth of field portraits. Then there is the new 35/2.8 macro and the 40/2.8 also for cheap.

If you want to upgrade what you have now then there are plenty of options there too.
