The heron has caught a snake! And the snake is not happy about it. The heron flew off with its prize so I never found out how it could devour such long prey. But I think this is pretty common and the bird would have had little difficulty.

Just a few from the nest I visit every year. Great Horned Owlets. One has fledged and 2 are left in the nest.
