On a positive side(at least for me), this machine made me excited for the A7R3.

I would imagine that this release would delay any a7rIII for at least another 6 months or so, if not more. Even though they're in different markets. Also have to wonder if there will even be a a7rIII now or just an a9r. All I can say is that now I'm sure I'm not the only one who's confused on which line will continue, whether they'll be an a7III, a7rIII, a7sIII, or an a9r, a9s, etc.

Wow the new a9 looks really nice! Does it have dual card slots? It's out of my budget but it would be a compelling option for sports and wildlife shooters. Wedding and event shooters should consider this too.

I love the new camera .... but been down this road before.... I see an A9ii around December and thats the one I might want. Wonder if it will bring Medicine Man back????!!!!??

The 100-400..... thing looks huge. I think I have to stick with my 70-300 and only pull out the Tamron 150-600 when need plan vs getting this.


However I do see these possibly when they start hitting the used market in 18 months as being in my future

Grrr gas..... It sure would be nice to replace the 6500 in my bag with the A9..... For landscapes I still would like the A7rii but this would be nice to have for those subjects I want the CV10 and Lox 21 .... Im always getting dust switching them back and forth during a sunrise or sunset.

Crap if i sell the A7rii and the 6500 im like.... damn close to affording this one camera.

It is a beast...If I could figure out a way to afford it...I would...it would be perfect for a lot of things...I would probably still use the A7R2 for landscapes due to the higher res...but just about everything else could be done with the 24MP.
