I think the church really helps to make this - gives things a nice sense of scale, and shows us just how massive those mountains are. Sometimes the "hand of man" makes a big difference in the composition ;-)a.

the photo is more about the church than the mountains, or maybe they are equal . It was built in 1875. McDougall church. Morley Alberta. That's getting pretty old as buildings go in this part of the world.
i have lost count how many times i have photographed it over years, Its about 20 minutes from my front door. However this was the first time I shot it from this spot. Not even sure if i have seen anyone else shoot it from here. I imagine someone must have in the 142 years it has been there . :)

This looks like the "Grand Canyon" of Yellowstone, am I correct?

Now THIS is a really nice sunset shot Simon that is also very unique IMO.

You have the dominant elements of the high clouds in a beautiful counterpoint to the broken down pier. Because these elements are at a slight diagonal it creates a really nice sense of subtle motion, giving you the feeling of almost moving, but at the same time in quiet balance. I get so tired of seeing the same old sunset with horizon in the middle and no engaging elements, but this is none of that. Of course all of this is just my opinion ;-)a Thanks for sharing.

One of the roads in my neighborhood. Shot at 70mm and 42mp, cropped down to about 9mp. I toned it to give it a bit of a dusty feel.
