question regarding ad200 and godox x1.

when I am in TTL mode adjust setting (eg + or -1etc) does it show on the AD200 screen? On my AD600 and V860 it shows but not AD200.

Only flash power in manual mode shows on the AD200 screen. The flash power is being adjusted fine, but its just not showing on the screen. Just want to know if its normal thats all

bump can anyone confirm if TTL compensation displays on the AD200 when being adjust with the X1?

I tested 2 of mine and they dont.

this guy had showed a more prominent banding issue on the AD200 with high speed sync. see his results.

I just watched that video and I cannot make any sense of what he said. Sure, he showed banding, but under what conditions can he create it?

My X200's (StrobePros AD200's) showed up at my door 2 minutes after I watched this. I have just tested mine at 8000th and cannot make any banding happen...

What is the issue? Is it camera specific? Is "Electronic 1st Curtain Sync" different from 1st Curtain Sync?

I am quite curious what this is about. If anyone can fill me in on the details, that would be great. If there is something I can test on a Canon camera, I'd be happy to.

Same thoughts, I couldn't really see any banding? Maybe I'm missing something obvious.

I too am confused, is he saying that the pulsating of HSS on Godox units is causing the banding?

I looked at the video multiple times, and I can see slight banding. It was not real obvious initially, but
when looking at the video carefully it can be seen.

Oh , I see the banding for sure! In some images it is very clear. I am just wondering where it comes from.

I just tried a 5D4 - No Banding. This is nuts and funny all at once. This is how the internet has destroyed facts...

So many implications and half truths, without a shed of supporting evidence, or even logical steps to base judgement and personal appraisal. Yet, I am sure a few people are now afraid to buy the strobe. :-)

"Wes Perry54 minutes ago
+Juan Dela Cruz Electronic first curtain shutter, default flash (first curtain I believe that is).
The issue is less apparent at lower power levels and higher ambient light levels. So if you are shooting at 1/1, and your ambient light level is low, with e-curtain shutter enabled, the issue will be Very apparent at 1/2000+"

That was from the guy who made the video, so let me just say that my test was at f16 (in my dimly lit basement) with the X200 (AD200) at 1/1 and there is NO banding... None.

I read his posts and to me, this seems like an issue with the A7 series electric shutter not the strobe. I do not own an A7, so I don't know any details about the cameras. He even states "Wes Perry3 hours ago
+Juan Dela Cruz I'll also be testing possible banding from fluorescent lights. Current silent shutter modes are really bad for that. And churches are full of 'em."

He's getting this issue with fluorescent lights??? How is this related to the AD200? LOL

Daniel,

I'm sure you have speedlight. how do you compare the AD200 at 1/1?

You aren't supposed to use HSS with electronic shutters due to sensor read delay. The Sony A9 will change that, but the guy shooting the above video should've known that.

my e-shutter is off because it's been discussed in other threads here that it degrades quality. I shoot wedding but not in church usually so a little louder mechanical shutter is not a problem to me. Also when i shoot model i like the model to hear the shutter so they know when to move.
