I purchased this lens last Wednesday and tested it out on Saturday at a local bird sanctuary. It's a big step up in size from my previous 70-300mm IS USM lens but it wasn't too difficult to manage. I'm looking forward to trying it out at an airshow in Gatineau this coming Sunday.
