Went out to the desert this weekend. Lighting was hit and miss but really it was a family camping trip. Not much effort put into photography aside from a million snapshots. Beautiful canyonlands in SW Idaho/SE Oregon reminiscent of southern Utah. One could come home with some amazing images, including astro, if they did a dedicated photography trip. See my flickr if interested in more.

I am just in love with this camera.
I actually got a sony 55mm now instead of my art series and I'm kinda sad but maybe I just need to get used to it haha
Its definitely nice having a smaller lens and all that
quality seems ok but I definitely feel like on my 55mm the images are a litttttle softer. Maybe I just need to get used to backing up a little more

Anyways, Here are some recent images.
Yes, I love high contrast/dark images and tend to underexpose haha

The Sony Zeiss FE 50mm F1.4 ZA is sharper wide open than the 55mm. IMO it's the best 50mm for portraits (as sharp as Sigma, with better rendering). The 55mm is wonderfully small though.

Yeah sadly I needed to take the cheaper way out and had to get the zeiss 55mm but I guess It will be good enough. I'll probably just start stopping up a little bit and doing what I always do in post.

for ease of use alone I really don't mind the other smaller sacrifices

David, me too. Do you know Maggie Q? She was on one of the Die Hard movies and also played Nikita on a series. My wife is a beautiful Vietnamese woman. Haha.

You mean there are weirdos out there who don't have an affinity for Asian women?

Maggie Q really is a cutie.

Yeah, my first girlfriend was from china. My current gf is from Laos. Hard to explain to people that it was actually not intended  Ive dated a lot of women that were not asian, but somehow i keep getting more attracted by asian ladies. Its not just the looks, i also like how kind and open they often are

Is Maggie Q the actress of the movie "Close to you"? who played the role of an assasin?

Nice shots Charlie. I hope to be in a beach all the time. Behind our house in the Philippines is already a beach. as in the shore. our music when sleeping are the waves. not so fun when it's windy though and big waves.

my wife promised me a trip to the phillipines one day, she lived there for a few years, and still very nostalgic about it.

My Buddy Frank put a Video together on his Droid Force Z of our Trip to Canyonlands ... 30% grades, Reverse switchbacks, razor sharp rocks. My first real Class 3-4 Offroading. Lucky for me they guided me through the hard spots.
