They were on Exmoor, Devon. I am so thrilled.... ![]() What amazes me with these lovely birds is that I saw a total of 8, yet they were all different colours, because I know so little about them I am not sure at this stage which ones are males and which ones are females. They resemble small parrots in a way. They were very high up in a Cone tree and would come down to a muddy puddle to have a quick drink. They would stay no more than 15seconds at the puddle and then would disappear. Very shy indeed. Such beautiful colours, they were that colourful I had to reduce the saturation considerably. ![]() Common Crossbill ![]() Common Crossbill ![]() Common Crossbill ![]() Common Crossbill Wow, that is amazing - congrats. I have to force myself to go with friends. Their addiction is full blown and I am more selective in what I do. But I see many feeling like social media is sucking the life out of them. Even when I have been out with my camera, nothing has been happening. I do have a pair of house wrens that returned to my yard this year. I want to get a shot of them, but they only really call in the morning when im getting ready for work. I also missed out on one of the best colored yellow rumped warblers ive ever seen. It came down to my bubbler pond and then low into my oak tree, was making dinner and couldnt get my camera. Mmm thats a problem i do not have, I call my yard Jeff's park because the critters never stop coming. Soon the yard will explode with what I call the spring and summer crowed.
