Very nice, Rob! That's a great composition with the aurora activity just managing to stay out of the way of the Milky Way.

I was at the observatory last night (where I was failing to image M84 and M86 no matter what I did) and one of my friends with me happened to mention they saw an aurora alert on SpaceWeather.com -- but I didn't see anything in the sky from my location.

Stayed up to the early hours for a rare chance of a clear night... unfortunately I don't live anywhere that isn't surrounded by fairly bad light pollution and air glow was a little worse than expected in the direction the core was up but had to have a go if only to keep my hand in..

16 image panorama (2 rows of 8), processed and stitched in Lightroom then tweaked in Photoshop... I am sure I have a lot more to learn on post processing these but can't learn unless you try huh :)

Went out to Monument Valley last week and took this shot from the balcony of the hotel. Took 8 vertical shots and stitched them together using Lightroom. The orange glow is the moon starting to rise. Taken at 3am. Only wished the mittens would have been more lit up.

Did you "light paint" the mountains? If not why are the ones on the left so bright and the one on the right so dark? Very interesting photo!
