Talk about personality - Great shot Alfred! I don't know what would be worse....the mandibles are leg spikes. What sort of background was he shot on?

Appreciate it! I had him on a white dinner plate. He didn't move too much. After I was done, I returned him to the backyard where I found him. The spikes on the legs really surprised me.

It's a good question. I just didn't want the bright part of the sky to be blown. Aperture isn't an issue as there is no foreground to take into account. All I did - exposure-wise - in processing, is I took the highlights down but no part of the original had blown highlights.
