Just picked up this lens and on the walk back to the car, I spot two lovely ladies taking shots of each other on their phones. I tell them I had just picked up a new lens and would enjoy the opportunity to test it out, so here is one of them :)

I have to use that pickup line in the future - especially with that wifi enabled 5D4, you can send them the edited photos with Lightroom's Mobile App almost immediately and get their contact info all at once.

Well done and congrats on the lens - the 35Lii is amazing.

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

There are not many trees on the Faroe Islands. Some of them seek Support on graveyard Stones (f/1.4).

(This is also posted in the EOS 1DK Mk II thread, and that post has some of the METADATA, but the METADATA data on Flickr does list the lens)

I was at someone's home when two brightly attired bicyclists showed up in some light rain.

Below are some impromptu images that I took upon seeing them; so excited I was that I ran out without shoes or a jacket and I did not care about me or the camera ultimately getting pretty wet.
The images were taken quickly as that I did not know the people and I did not want to hold up their training session.
The light was a harsh overcast and this man's jacket glowed.

Someday I will learn how to manage the highlights better but for now, these folks were thrilled to receive some images of themselves enjoying their hobby.
I was really happy to have been able to give them these images.

I like the images, and the perspective distortion in some was deliberate.

(Their bicycles were the Beargrease top-of-the-line carbon fiber model made by Salsa)

When I was switching from 35L to to 35L II, I wanted to get better sharpness in corners, less CA and still have "that look". Well the far corners on new version are at least as sharp as the center on ver. I. The bokeh/look from the new one I absolutely love and it is also improved looking more like the one I get from 85L II, making them a great combo (5dIII/35LII + 1dIV/85LII). I think the AF is also improved, especially on far corners in dark condition. I like to use mine in a theatre.

The background lights from the ver. II are more eye shape like 85L II

It could have been a great comparaison but the imagine taken with the 35L is not good technically, it is not sharp... there is a mouvement also. The image with the 35L II is better in focus.
